New Nordic call center giant is born

With 3,000 employees and 20 million telephone contacts a year, GoExcellent AB is one of the Nordic region’s leading companies within its segment. The company was formed in connection with a recently completed hiving off of a business area in the Aditro Group, and the new owners include the call centre pioneer Arne Weinz. They are now in the process of developing a totally new business concept that aims in a tangible way to reinforce customers’ competitive strength.

 

The company was founded in 2000 under the name of Excellent AB, since when it has become established as one of the three leading call centre companies in the Nordic region. Following a period as a business area in the Aditro Group, in June 2009 the original troika of owners – Arne Weinz, Patrik Winqvist and Johan Holm – returned to the company, which is now being relaunched as the independent company GoExcellent AB.

 

“We see outstanding business potential in the new company. There is a strong trend towards more and more companies outsourcing their customer service functions to an external party, and we’re currently refining the call centre concept to create what we call a customer centre. Instead of just “picking up the phone when it rings”, we’re assuming a very definite proactive role,” says Lars Nilsson, MD of GoExcellent AB. “The customer service function of the past is being transformed into a marketing channel and a competitive advantage.”

 

For GoExcellent’s customers, this means up to 30 per cent lower costs, which can be reinvested in business development and improved quality in customer contacts. This in turn reinforces competitive strength, with more satisfied customers and realisation of the potential for extra sales that the customer base represents.

 

“Service is becoming an increasingly important competitive advantage in a world where the products and services on offer are increasingly homogenous,” says Lars Nilsson.

 

With around 20 million customer contacts a year, turnover of 95 million euros, operations at 13 sites and 3,000 employees on the payroll, they are one the Nordic region’s biggest employers of young people under the age of 26, and in many locations they are among the biggest private sector employers. There are also operations in the Netherlands and Belgium, primarily in the form of staffing companies.

 

Arne Weinz, one of the main owners of the company, was involved in founding the company Datasvar back in 1991, and is generally recognised as a pioneer in the call centre industry.
